One of the odd things about Japanese language is that everything between the knees and waist is a “hip” (??? ).

Just look at these google images of Japanese “sexy hips” some of which I have posted below. There seems to be no butts in Japanese — it’s seldom mentioned even they do have a word for it (??).

Weird, neh?
